Hold Shaping Workshop - Sat 29th June
Have you ever wanted to know how climbing holds are made? Do you want to have a go making some? If so, this could be the perfect way to waste a couple of hours on a Saturday!
Join our resin hold shaping workshop on Saturday 29th June and shape your own climbing hold.
How are resin holds made?
Simply, a bit of foam is cut and sanded into the desired shape. This bit of foam is then used to create a silicone mould. Resin is then poured into the silicone mould and left to go hard. Once hard enough the resin hold is removed from the mould. The mould is then reused to make more of that hold.
What is included as part of the workshop?
At the workshop you will be given a bit of foam and hand tools to shape the foam into your desired form. We will show you how to use the tools, and help you achieve the shape you want!
To stay in keeping with the board theme, the foam blocks won’t be huge, think old-school board holds, not macros.
You will have a couple of hours to shape your foam hold. After this we will then do the messy and more time consuming bits over the following week for you. I.e. making the silicone mould and pouring the resin.
After the resin hold is finished we will use it at The Board Meeting event on the 6th July, using these holds to set blocs on our temp outdoor board. After this event you can collect your hold!
Get a ticket to The Board Meeting on 6th July to see your hold in action on the board, and to get a big discount on the cost of the hold shaping workshop!
How much does it cost?
