Olympic Finals Watching Party - Sat 10th August
It’s the Olympics. Climbing is part of it. The Women’s Lead and Boulder Finals are on Saturday 10th August. We have teamed up with T-Climbing to bring you a Watch Party with some Olympic themed climbing and a T-Climbing fundraiser!
Here's the plan….
We have several screens (large and small) dotted around the centre. They will be showing the finals over the course of the day. You can come and watch the finals while doing a bit of climbing.
We will also run some Olympic inspired challenges over the course of the day. Something like:
4 Olympic boulder finals style blocs (easy to hard)
Speed runs on the traverse boulder
Lead style finals on the traverse - yes this will include a harness and clips….
We will also be running a sweepstakes to make it all the more interesting (details TBC)!
Okay now you know the jist, time for the key details:

Supporting T-Climbing
Taking part in sport poses lots of challenges for the trans community. T-Climbing are a wonderful group of people trying to make climbing a welcoming and safe space for trans people. At Rise we really believe that climbing should be accessible for everyone, and we are running this event in partnership with T-Climbing to help them raise funds to help support the group.
T-Climbing will be hosting a bake sale on the day, with all proceeds going to support the group.
If you are in a position to do so, there will also be an option to donate to support T-Climbing at any time during the day. We would recommend a £3 donation which goes towards the fund they use to subsidise entries for members of the T-Climbing community who cannot always afford to climb.
