Introducing yet another new comp format to the scene… the Mono Murderer, a murder mystery climbing comp!

Lies, deceit and murder… all key ingredients for a good (and chaotic) climbing comp, right?

Sure, no-one asked for it, but we are going to do it anyway. We are not 100% sure how this is going to work yet, but I reckon we will figure it out in time! What we can guarantee is a completely unique climbing comp, with a format which we will probably never see again…

As it stands, the plan is to set around 20 top quality blocs, then somehow shoehorn climbing them into a murder mystery. Using your powers of deduction, in a team (1 - 4 people per team), you will need to uncover the murderer, the time of the murder and the murder weapon. The first team to solve the mystery of the Mono Murderer will win.

There will also be a prize for best costume, extra points if you manage to stick to a murder mystery theme.

Saturday 2nd November, 5pm till late

Do I need a ticket?

Yes please!

We are limiting the event to just 75 tickets, so please get one in advance to make sure you can come and uncover the Mono Murderer!

How much does it cost?

You know we love a pay what you feel comp, so we thought we would do it again.

Pay us anything from £5 to £25 - whatever you can afford that’s okay with us. We’d love some cash but more importantly we just want you here!

If you cant afford anything - drop us a message and we will sort you out no questions asked!

How does it work?

Don’t worry more detailed instructions will be issued to the teams in the week leading up to the event. Key things to know now:

• You need a team of 1 - 4 people

• It will require a combination of climbing and detective work

• There will be 20ish comp blocs from V0 - V7 (you will not need to be able to climb all the blocs to uncover the murderer - but the less you climb the more you need to think!)

• It’s a race, so the first team to uncover the murderer wins, so you need to arrive on time!

What if I want to be a solo detective?

That’s absolutely fine by us! Come climb the blocs and find the murderer solo! Just make sure to watch your back!

What if I just want to climb the blocs?

Again, that’s absolutely fine by us! Uncovering the murderer is totally optional!

How does the scoring work?

There is no scoring really - the first team to uncover the Mono Murderer wins

Isn’t this essentially the same as the treasure hunt comp?

Leave it out, this is totally different…..

Will there be food and drinks?

Only the best cheese toasties and cocktails in Canning Town!

We will have a light food menu (cheese toasties and noodle pots) and our full bar menu (beers, wines, cocktails) on the go all night.

No drinks while you are climbing though, just for afterwards!
